Look around – this is a spiritual place
The Western Slopes area is home to many houses of worship and religious organizations that serve a variety of different faiths. They’re marked by active congregations that contribute to the community, provide welcoming sanctuaries for prayer, host weddings and other services, and dot our landscape with those white steeples that are classic to the New England countryside.
Fun fact: the most famous building in our area is the Old Round Church, a 16-sided structure originally built in 1813 to house Richmond’s five Protestant denominations. Popular legend has it that the church was round so the Devil couldn’t hide in the corner.
