Recap of the Richmond Holiday Market for 2012: Huge Success!
We had 57 vendors in our three locations and the event was a huge success! The weather was perfect to give a wintery, festive feel to our wagon rides with light snow and cool temperatures. Great feedback on the wonderful assortment of crafts, gifts, music, food and overall general community and friendly spirit. Always fun for some many in the community to see others and this year we broadened the venue to include the newly renovated Teen/ Community Center in the Town Hall and an additional 10 booths. Bolton Valley had brisk signups for their winter passes and helped us show off the new space to more people. We know there was a bit of a wait for passes and will work to improve that for next year, however, we loved having them there!
Many thanks to all our vendors who signed up to display and sell their goods at the event.
Also, we thank the committee of Sherry Daniels, who coordinated the event with the help Barb Willis who runs the event at the Congregational Church (which has 26 vendors, live music, plus great food throughout the day). Also on the Market team and a someone who plays a key role in the event is Jody Cole who volunteers her time to produce a very successful Western Slopes Silent Auction to benefit the WSBA Scholarship Fund for two MMU Students. Thanks go to Jody’s Auction volunteers, as well.
Others who made a major contribution of time to make this a success were Dave Thomas, Ted Yeates, Theresa Gilbert, Marie Thomas and Scott Cole, who helped with signage, set up, tear down, cleaning, the Teen Center and more! Thanks also to Dave Sunshine for coordinating Santa and the Horse and Wagon rides – always a favorite part of the event!!
Many thanks to Jonathan Leonard who organized a fine group of musicians and they volunteered their time to produce fun and upbeat music for the Silent Auction Room and to the Camels Hump Middle School Select Chorus and Instrumental Ensemble for their short concerts in both the Library and the Congregational Church. All this music adds a nice feel to the event and is thoroughly enjoyed by all!
