Gabriel Firman, Board Member Gabriel grew up just north of Chicago in Evanston Illinois. After graduating high school he moved west and lived predominantly in Portland Oregon and the outlying areas for approximately 10 years before moving to Fletcher, Vermont. In 2002, Gabriel and his wife Emily settled in Richmond as it seemed to be a perfect place to raise their three daughters Bella, Sadie and Lucy. Prior to opening Hatchet Tap and Table in Richmond, Gabriel was immersed in the building trades in a variety of roles. Most recently, Gabriel worked with Gristmill Builders in Stowe managing and estimating large scale residential and commercial projects. Their firm handled the Hen of the Wood building in Burlington, Vermont and during the course of that project he became friendly with and was inspired by the owners, William McNeil and Eric Warnstedt, to explore the idea of opening Hatchet. Gabriel is excited by the thoughtful growth that the area has seen in the 14 years he and his family have lived here. He looks forward to ushering in further change to help businesses in the community thrive and prosper.
